11. Sweep Timing
a. Performance Check
(1) Set TIME/DIV switch to 50 ns.
(2) Set oscilloscope calibrator for a 50 ns MARKER output.
(3) Adjust TRIGGERING LEVEL control for a stable display on oscilloscope.
(4) Adjust POSITION control to align second time marker on oscilloscope second
vertical graticule line.
(5) Rotate oscilloscope calibrator rotary knob located below EDIT FIELD button to
align 1 time marker per division between oscilloscope 2d and 10th vertical graticule line. If
oscilloscope calibrator err readout does not indicate within 2.5 percent, perform b (1) below.
(6) Set TI TIME/DIV to 10 s and oscilloscope calibrator MARKER output to 10 s.
(7) Repeat technique of (3) through (5) above. If oscilloscope calibrator err readout
does not indicate within 1.5 percent, perform b (2) below.
(8) Set TI TIME/DIV to 10 ms and oscilloscope calibrator MARKER output to 10 ms.
(9) Repeat technique of (3) through (5) above except, oscilloscope calibrator err
readout does not indicate within 1.5 percent, perform b (3) below.
(10) Push oscilloscope POWER switch to off.
Remove extender and reinstall TI
directly into oscilloscope B HORZ compartment.
(11) Pull oscilloscope POWER switch to on.
Press TRIGGERING MODE
NORM pushbutton.
(12) Repeat technique of (3) through (5) above for TI TIME/DIV and oscilloscope
MARKER output listed in table 3. At each setting, TI will display 1 time marker per
division between 2d and 10th vertical graticule lines within oscilloscope calibrator err
indication listed.
