NOTE
Minimum acceptable peak to peak voltage is 350 mV.
(29) Multiply voltage recorded in (28) above by 25 and record as threshold voltage.
Example:
400 mV p-p x 25 = 10.0 V dc threshold voltage.
NOTE
Maximum acceptable threshold voltage is 15 V dc.
(30) Connect multimeter to THRESHOLD TP (fig. 1) and chassis ground.
(31) Adjust VR13 (fig. 1) for a multimeter indication of THRESHOLD voltage
recorded in (29) above (R).
(32) Repeat (28) above while observing multimeter and oscilloscope. Multimeter
must indicate between 7 and 15 V dc, and must indicate a continuous peak to peak
waveform. If oscilloscope wave form disappears, set FREQ 8.4 TO 10.0 GHz COARSE
control to point of disappearance and readjust VR13 until waveform reappears.
(33) Connect oscilloscope to TP16 (fig. 1) and chassis ground. Connect multimeter to
THRESHOLD TP (fig. 1) and chassis ground.
(34) Adjust VR13 (fig. 1) for a multimeter indication of +5 V dc (R).
(35) While observing oscilloscope, slowly turn FREQ 8.4 TO 10.0 GHz COARSE
control from 8400 to 10000 MHz. Oscilloscope must indicate a continuous peak to peak
waveform. If oscilloscope waveform disappears, set FREQ 8.4 TO 10.0 GHz COARSE
control to point of disappearance and readjust VR13 until waveform reappears.
a. Performance Check
(1) Position controls as listed in (a) through (d) below:
MODE switch to SIG GEN CW.
(a)
DISPLAY SELECT switch to FREQ (MHz).
(b)
(c)
ATTENUATION DB FINE fully ccw.
(d)
(2) Connect power meter to TI RF IN/OUT connector.
(3) Adjust FREQ 8.4 TO 10.0 GHz COARSE and FINE controls for a TI display
indication of 8400 20 MHz.
(4) Set ATTENUATION DB 0-80 switch to 0 and adjust ATTENUATION DB
FINE control for a 0.0 dBm power meter indication.
(5) Set DISPLAY SELECT switch to RF SIG PWR (DBM). TI will display 0.0
1 dBm.
(6) Adjust FREQ 8.4 TO 10.0 GHz COARSE control to vary frequency between
8.4 and 10.0 GHz while maintaining a 0.0 dBm indication on power meter. Note TI
