d. When indications specified in paragraphs 8 through 18 are not within tolerance,
perform the power supply check prior to making adjustments. After adjustments are made,
repeat paragraphs 8 through 18. Do not perform power supply check if all other
parameters are within tolerance.
e. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.
7. Equipment Setup
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Remove protective cover from TI as required to make adjustments.
b. Connect TI to autotransformer and adjust autotransformer to 115 V ac.
c. Position controls as listed in (1) through (13) below.
(1) POWER SOURCE (rear) selector switch to AC and EXT DC.
(2) INTENSITY control fully ccw.
(3) VOLTS/DIV switches to .2 and VOLTS/DIV CAL fully cw to detent.
(4) POSITION controls to midrange.
(5) AC-GND-DC switches to GND.
(6) SEC/DIV switch to .1 m and SEC/DIV CAL control fully cw to detent.
(7) X10 MAG switch pressed in.
(8) CH2 pushbutton released (out).
(9) CH1 pushbutton pressed (in).
(10) DC-AC pushbutton released AC (out).
(11) AUTO-NORM pushbutton pressed AUTO (in).
(12) TRIGGER LEVEL control to midrange.
(13) Display mode switch to CH1 and SCOPE POWER and DMM POWER
pushbuttons pressed to ON. Allow at least 5 minutes for warm-up before proceeding.
8. Geometry
a. Performance Check
(1) Adjust INTENSITY control for normal viewing and position controls for
centered trace to start at first vertical graticule line. If trace is not parallel with center
horizontal graticule line within one-half minor division, adjust R1320 TRACE ROTATION
(fig. 1) (accessible from bottom of cabinet) for trace parallel with center horizontal graticule line.
