a. Connect TI to autotransformer.
b. Connect autotransformer to a 115 V ac source and adjust 115 V output.
c. Set POWER switch to ON position and observe power-up self test routine as
described in techniques (1) through (4) below:
(1) Immediately after power is switched on, the counter will perform a display test
in which all segments of the LCD display are turned on. The display should remain in this
state for about 3 seconds. Check that no segments are missing.
(2) If all tests pass, the HP-1B address will be displayed immediately after the
display test.
(3) If any of the internal tests fail, the results of the first test failing will be
displayed after the display test. Pressing the RESET/LOCAL key will display the next
test.
(4) If a FAIL message is displayed during the power-up self test, take corrective
action before continuing.
d. Allow TI to warm-up for 24 hours before proceeding to paragraph 8 below.
8. Timebase Stability
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect 10 MHz OUT on TI rear panel to J10 input (rear panel) on
time/frequency workstation.
(2) Adjust A10C1 FREQ ADJ (fig. 1) for a minimum difference indication on
time/frequency workstation. Time/frequency workstation will indicate less than 5 parts in
1010 after 24 hour stabilization.
(3) Adjust autotransformer output to 105 V ac and verify that TI oscillator drift is
less than 1 part in 1010.
(4) Adjust autotransformer output to 125 V ac and verify that TI oscillator drift is
less than 1 part in 1010.
(5) Adjust autotransformer output to 115 V ac.
