(10) Ensure 1 MΩ key on FUNCTION/DATA keyboard is engaged.
(11) Adjust function generator frequency to 10 Hz and amplitude controls for
25 mV rms output. If TI does not indicate a repeatable count 1 Hz of function generator
frequency, perform b below.
(12) Repeat technique (11) above for frequencies of 1 kHz, 500 kHz, 1 MHz, and 10 MHz.
b. Adjustments
(1) Connect negative lead of multimeter to chassis ground of TI, and positive lead of
multimeter to A2TP1 (fig. 1).
(2) Connect equipment as shown in figure 2.
(3) Press 50Ω key on FUNCTION/DATA keyboard.
(4) Adjust synthesized signal generator frequency to 400 MHz and RF output
amplitude controls for a power meter indication of -2.4 dBm.
(5) Adjust A2R1 (fig. 1) cw until counter JUST begins to gate and display the
400 MHz signal (multimeter indication will jump above 4.5 V). (R)
(6) Adjust synthesized signal generator RF output amplitude controls for a -3 dBm
indication on power meter. TI display will indicate all zeroes (00 000 000 000).
(7) Slowly adjust synthesized signal generator RF output amplitude controls until
power meter indicates -2 dBm. If TI does not indicate 400 MHz 1 Hz, repeat techniques
(5) and (6) above.
10. Input 1 Sensitivity Test (500 MHz to 18 GHz)
a. Performance Check
(1) Press AUTO key on FUNCTION/DATA keyboard.
(2) Connect equipment as shown in figure 2, except connect 20 dB attenuator (fixed)
to INPUT 1 instead of INPUT 2.
(3) Adjust synthesized signal generator frequency to 500 MHz and RF output
amplitude controls for a -5 dBm indication on power meter.
(4) If TI does not indicate within 4 Hz of synthesized signal generator frequency,
perform b below.
(5) Repeat (3) and (4) above for synthesized signal generator frequency of 1000,
2500, 5000, 10,000, 12,400, and 18,000 MHz.
