12. Automatic Amplitude Discrimination Test
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect equipment as shown in figure 6, connection A.
(2) Adjust signal generator frequency to 500 MHz and RF output amplitude controls
for a -25 dBm indication on power meter.
(3) Connect equipment as shown in figure 6, connection B.
(4) Adjust synthesized signal generator frequency to 18,000 MHz and RF level
output controls for a -5 dBm indication on power meter.
(5) Disconnect 50 Ω termination from power splitter, POINT A (fig. 6, connection B)
and connect signal generator cable to power splitter, POINT A (fig. 6, connection B).
(6) Disconnect power meter from power splitter, POINT B (fig. 6, connection B) and
connect TI to power splitter, point B (fig. 6, connection B). TI will indicate 18 GHz 4 Hz.
(7) Connect equipment as shown in figure 6, connection A.
(8) Adjust signal generator frequency to 2000 MHz and RF output amplitude
controls for a -11 dBm indication on power meter.
(9) Connect equipment as shown in figure 6, connection B.
(10) Adjust synthesized signal generator frequency to 2500 MHz and RF level output
controls for a -5 dBm indication on power meter.
(11) Disconnect 50 Ω termination from power splitter POINT A (fig. 6, connection B)
and connect signal generator to power splitter POINT A (fig. 6, connection B).
(12) Disconnect power meter from power splitter, POINT B (fig. 6) and connect TI to
power splitter, POINT B (fig. 6). TI will indicate 2.5 GHz 4 Hz.
