(66) Slowly increase RF power amplifier gain control for a RF watt meter reading of
10 W. TI will indicate between 8 and 12 W.
(67) Set RF power amplifier gain fully ccw and replace 50
termination with 3 dB
attenuator.
137 MHz.
(69) Slowly increase RF power amplifier gain control until TI switches to XMIT-
MEAS mode (annotate TI VSWR indication). If TI VSWR indication is not 3.2 1, perform
b (83) through (90) below.
(70) Set RF power amplifier gain fully ccw and replace 3 dB attenuator with 6 dB
attenuator.
(71) Slowly increase RF power amplifier gain control until TI switches to XMIT-
MEAS mode. If TI VSWR indication is not 1.6 1, perform b (83) through (90) below.
(72) Set RF power amplifier gain fully ccw and replace 6 dB attenuator with 10 dB
attenuator.
(73) Slowly increase RF power amplifier gain control until TI switches to XMIT-
MEAS mode. If TI VSWR indication is not 1.1 1, perform b (83) through (90) below.
(74) Set all outputs to minimum and disconnect equipment setup.
b. Adjustments.
(1) Adjust R96 (fig. 2) for a TI display of 70%.
(2) Rotate TI FUNCTION switch to 29-88 position.
59 MHz.
(3) Set RF reference source for an output of 0 dBm at 120 MHz with 50% AM
modulation. Ensure TI is in AM mode, toggle TI XMIT-MEAS switch, take a reading and
calculate AM coefficient as follows:
AMRx = 50% / Actual Reading %
(4) Set TI function switch to MB and turn TI off.
(5) Press and hold down the MB/NAV ID switch while turning the TI on.
(6) When Enter Cal Code appears on TI screen, enter 953 on TI keypad.
(7) Press 1 (AMRx) on TI keypad.
(8) Use TI keyboard ,
keys to select band 1 (29-88 MHz).
(9) Using TI keyboard, key in coefficient calculated in (3) above. Turn TI off and
back on.
(10) Rotate TI FUNCTION switch to 108-118 position. Using keyboard set TI to
113 MHz.
(11) Set RF reference source for an output of 0 dBm at 113 MHz with 50% AM
modulation. Ensure TI is in AM mode, toggle TI XMIT-MEAS switch, take a reading and
calculate AM coefficient as follows:
AMRx = 50% / Actual Reading %
