11. Level Accuracy Verification
a. Performance Check
NOTE
The accuracy of the 50 ohm termination is extremely critical for
the following voltage measurements.
Measure the DC
resistance of the termination prior to use and select a
termination as close to nominal 50.00 Ω as possible.
Termination must not exceed 0.2% (49.90 Ω - 50.10 Ω). TI
Leveling Head should be supported as poor alignment with the
termination may degrade the measurement.
(1) Connect the TI 50 Ω Leveling Head to INPUT 1 of the AC measurement
standard using a precision 50 Ω termination.
(2) Set the TI controls as listed in (a) through (d) below:
(a) MODE to Leveled Sine.
(b) FREQUENCY to 1 kHz.
(c) LEVEL to +20 dBm.
(d) OUTPUT to OPER.
(3) After measurement has settled, verify that the result is within the tolerances of
table 10.
(4) Repeat technique of (2) (b), (2) (c), and (3) above for the remaining frequencies
and output levels listed in table 10. If the TI does not indicate within the tolerances of
table 10, perform b below.
