b. Adjustments. Perform paragraph 11 (b) Locked FM Mode On. After
adjustment repeat 11 a through 14 a.

a. Performance Check
(1) Press TI keys as listed in (a) through (e) below:
(a) System, Reset.
(b) Edit L1, 0, dBm.
(c) Edit F1, 5, GHz.
(d) Modulation, )M, Internal/External, select external.
(e) Press, on/off, turn on External )M.
(2) Allow measuring receiver to tune to TI carrier frequency, then measure PM
Deviation with PEAK + -/2 detector, no filters, and record PM Deviation reading as (N).
(3) On the TI press, on/off, turn off External )M.
(4) On the TI press, Internal/External, select Internal )M.
(5) On the TI press, Edit Deviation, 3, Enter.
(6) On the TI press, Mode, Wide, <Previous.
(7) On the TI press, on/off, turn on Internal )M.
(8) Set measuring receiver to measure PM Deviation with PEAK + detector, and
record FM Deviation reading as (S+N).
(9) Calculate actual PM deviation by using the following formula, Sactual = (S+N)-N.
(10) If the calculated PM deviation is not within limits listed in table 15, perform b
below.
(11) On TI turn off Internal PM, then repeat (1) (c) through (e) and (3) through (10)
above for the remaining frequency listed in table 15. If the calculated PM deviation is not
within limits listed in table 15, perform b below.
(12) Set TI outputs to minimum.
