(120) Connect microwave comb generator to RF INPUT.
(121) Connect oscilloscope calibrator to microwave comb generator FM input.
(122) Set oscilloscope calibrator to 10 s markers.
NOTE
Adjust PEAKING control to peak the amplitude of comb
markers.
NOTE
If a signal cannot be located at 6.0 GHz, check preselector
tracking adjustments in technique of (316) through (363) below.
(123) Adjust REFERENCE LEVEL and FREQUENCY controls to display and
center the 6.0 GHz line on crt.
(124) Reduce FREQUENCY SPAN/DIV control progressively to 100 kHz while
adjusting REFERENCE LEVEL and FREQUENCY controls to keep 6.0 GHz signal
centered on crt.
NOTE
Press  DEGAUSS  pushbutton  for  each  setting
of
the
FREQUENCY SPAN/DIV control below 5 MHz.
(125) Adjust R1067 (fig. 8) for 1 marker per division across center 8 divisions.
(126) Disconnect TI from equipment setup.
(127) Press FREQUENCY RANGE pushbutton to 0-1.8 GHz.
(128) Adjust FREQUENCY SPAN/DIV control to MAX.
(129) Connect 2d LO OUTPUT to frequency counter.
(130) If frequency counter does not indicate between 2181 and 2183 MHz, perform
technique of (131) and (132) below; otherwise, perform (133) below.
CAUTION
Do not adjust the two slotted slugs (fig. 9). These are varactor
diode mounts.
NOTE
Instruments that have the 2181 MHz phase locked 2d LO (SN
B040000 and up), refer to maintenance for repair.
If
instrument has cavity 2d LO (SN B039999 and below), perform
(131) below.
